Local school rewards student kindness with art display

The entrance to West Navarre Intermediate School had an extreme makeover last week. Students painted ceiling tiles in bright colors to replace the plain white squares at the entrance to the school. The ceiling tiles are a lasting tribute to the random kindness 62 students showed their communities.

Commission gives straw poll thumbs-up

Around 28,000 registered voters in the Navarre area will have a say this November in whether or not they support an initiative to incorporate the community. That ballot issue, however, will be for informational purposes only. The Santa Rosa County Commission voted May 22 to allow a nonbinding referendum of residents in six precincts in the proposed incorporation area on the 2014 election ballot.
