Buffalo Rock donation will help provide 37k meals on Gulf Coast

Buffalo Rock, the beverage bottling and distribution company, is giving back to the Emerald Coast.

In honor of its 125th anniversary, the company is investing $125,000 across its footprint, including the Gulf Coast. A portion of that investment is going toward Feeding the Gulf Coast and will help the nonprofit provide more than 37,000 meals to families.

For a woman who has experienced the unthinkable, the effects of trauma can be completely debilitating, preventing her from maintaining healthy relationships, holding a job, functioning as a wife or mother or living a full, productive life. In many cases, professional trauma therapy is the only way to untangle all the complex, involuntarily emotional responses triggered by the trauma experienced by survivors of human trafficking, sexual assault, sexual exploitation or abuse.

Clergy Day connects local pastors with military chaplains

With Northwest Florida home to several military installations and a large veteran population, local churches play an important role in serving the military community.

Recently, about 20 faith leaders from churches and ministries in Escambia, Santa Rosa and Okaloosa counties visited Hurlburt Field to attend Clergy Day, an event dedicated to helping church leaders better understand the military community, its challenges and its mission.
