People to watch in 2021

There’s can be only Navarre Press 2020 Person of the Year, but many others made a significant difference to the community this year, which lead to them being nominated for the distinction.

Here are the nominations for other residents worth watching in the months to come.

Letters to Editor

The Navarre Press asked readers to tell us what they are thankful for this year. Here’s a sampling of our favorites.

‘I am grateful for many things’

That my youngest daughter graduated college (ceremony and all) in December, before the lockdowns.
That despite having to cancel a trip to NYC (with my daughters) and a dream trip to Italy (birthplace of my grandparents), that our family was lucky enough to have gone to Alaska and France the last two years. Great trips.

Out and About

We have exciting changes coming soon to the digital paid subscription version of Navarre Press. We have a conference call tomorrow with the developers. This an example of how we are always fighting for our subscribers/readers and end-users of Navarre Press. We don’t just settle for good enough, we always want to get better. If you aren’t growing – you are going backwards. And, when you know you can do better, you don’t settle for less. That is why “Excellence is our ordinary” is a core value at Navarre Press.

New faith correspondent joins NP team

Navarre Press has a new voice bringing the stories of faith in Navarre to the pages of the paper. Pastor Michael Bannon has joined the team going into 2019 as a faith correspondent.

Bizzy coming to a store near you

As Christmas approaches, one of Santa’s elves has taken a vacation to Navarre Beach and will be stopping in at businesses throughout the community including the Navarre Press.

Introducing Eden Davenport

You may have noticed a new name in the paper for the past two issues – Eden Davenport. Navarre Press is excited to introduce you to the young lady behind the name. Eden is a new intern from Navarre High School who is now a budding young journalist. She took a journalism class and loved it – and now she wants to see how the process of putting a newspaper together really works.

Flying high with Jordan Leggett

Jordan Leggett is the first NFL player from Navarre. He is in his second season in the league and hoping to compete for the starting tight end job this season with the New York Jets. Navarre Press will provide updates on Leggett each week throughout the 2018 season.
