At his memorial service April 6, late Santa Rosa County Commissioner Jim Williamson was remembered as a quiet man of great strength who had the courage to stand by his convictions regardless of political pressures.

According to the Florida Public Archaeology Network (FPAN), more than 300 ships have wrecked in and around Pensacola Bay, and they provide great habitat for sea life, as well as recreational opportunities for divers and snorkelers.
