Out and About

We are feeling very parental at Navarre Press. We love seeing our “children” that we watched grow up go out into the world and do something good or great. I know there are more out there that we never hear about, but we keep our ears to the ground. We could use your ears too.  And, all that to say – WOW! It was fun to watch Jordan Leggett on just about every play last night in Tampa during the Championship Game. Our sports guy would have kept up with every move he made except he was at a Raider soccer game.  And, I have a lot of friends that are Alabama fans but I’m sure they would admit that it made losing a little bit bearable knowing that one of the Clemson players that made it happen was Navarre’s own Jordan Leggett. We are beaming with pride here at Navarre Press and we hope you are too.

Marketing for tourists

Hopefully you will agree that I attempt to stay positive on pretty much everything involving SRC (Santa Rosa County). Saying that, it seems that the obvious is in your faces yet no one sees it when it comes to “visitors.” Specifically, when it comes to tourism SRC (primarily Navarre Beach) is the destination zone for seniors. The seniors are not the 18 year olds trying to buy beer and chase girls but the 65+ year old Yankees looking for a warm spot in the sand.

How do I apply at Holley-Navarre Water Systems?

How do I apply for a job? If what I’ve heard is true they wouldn’t have to pay me.  I’d work for the benefits. A Platinum Health Plan that you and I pay for including the deductibles and the premiums, Life Insurance, Disability premiums, and possibly more benefits to come in the future. Then to help pay for everything a 17% increase in water rates.  With all the new construction on Highway 98 I hope they have a sufficient water supply to accommodate all users in the event of a 30+ day drought this summer.  With all those new accounts they should have plenty of cash on hand.  Please tell me I’m wrong.

ICU nurse fights off infection, set to start rehab care

The future looks promising for a Sacred Heart Hospital intensive care nurse turned patient as she recovers from a life-threatening infection. Navarre resident Christa Gibson could be checking out of the same floor she once treated patients on and be checking into rehabilitation therapy as her strength continues to build.
