Gulf Power has just completed the installation of nearly 1,000 LED streetlights from Bayshore Road in Gulf Breeze east through Navarre to the Okaloosa County line to help keep drivers more safe when traveling at night.

Although one commissioner called for prosecution in the matter, two county officials later decided the demolition had been within the rights of the contractor.

Pier contract changes hands; but not before drama, controversy

Current employees who use tobacco products were not affected by the policy. To encourage healthy lifestyles, Baptist Health Care and Sacred Heart Health System are currently, and will continue to offer, tobacco cessation assistance to existing team members. Baptist Health Care and Sacred Heart Health System worked with the Partnership for a Healthy Community (PFAHC) on an assessment of the state of health in the two-county area that includes Escambia and Santa Rosa. Results revealed discouraging statistics related to tobacco use, obesity and health management. Baptist Health Care and Sacred Heart Health System became smoke-free campuses in 2010. The hiring policy is another step in support of a healthy workforce.
The Watoto Children’s Choir has sung for presidents, has appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show and toured internationally for almost 20 years. And now, the world-renowned choir has performed in Navarre — at the Navarre First Assembly of God on Feb. 13.
