School zones and school advisory areas. What’s the difference?

Most people know to slow down when approaching a school zone. After all, there is a good chance a law enforcement patrol car could hand you a sizable ticket if you don’t. While the immediate area around a school generally constitutes a school zone, nearby streets and highways don’t always apply.
