Santa Rosa Extension office to host chainsaw safety workshop

The UF/IFAS Santa Rosa County Extension Service is hosting a Chainsaw Safety for Home Landscapes workshop on Tuesday, Nov. 19 from 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the UF/IFAS Extension Offices, 6263 Dogwood Drive in Milton.
UF/IFAS Santa Rosa County Extension Service is hosting a chainsaw safety workshop Nov. 19.

This short course is designed to cover basic safety and operation skills so participants can learn to safely operate chainsaws in the home landscape. It is designed to provide information at the beginner to intermediate level.

Topics covered include safety equipment, chainsaw operation, and how/why to fell a tree. There is a hands-on option for this course with a liability waiver, long pants, long sleeve shirts, and closed toed above ankle shoes are required.

The workshop is $15 and is open to the public. Register for this workshop online. Contact the extension office at 850-623-3868 for more information.
