Sacred Heart steps up care as NWFL stroke victim deaths exceed state, national averages
Strokes have become a major health issue in Northwest Florida.
The Pensacola area, to include Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties, have stroke victim rates far exceeding state and national averages. In 2024, Escambia County had 75 deaths from stroke per 100,000 population and Santa Rosa County wasn’t far behind with 67.6.
