Many area anglers rejoiced when the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) expanded the recreational red snapper season in Florida waters to 52 days for 2014. However, many of them joined Gov. Rick Scott, Senator Bill Nelson and Rep. Jeff Miller in protesting when the season in federal waters was shortened to only nine days.
