Afternoon thunderstorms are commonplace during summers in Florida. Sometimes the resulting winds blow down nests built in trees, leaving baby animals born in springtime without a home and often orphaned.  It’s a situation which can be heartbreaking to watch and make residents feel hopeless or uncertain about helping.
