NOTICE OF TAX FOR SCHOOL CAPITAL OUTLAY

The Santa Rosa County School District will soon consider a measure to continue to impose a 1.5 mill property tax for the capital outlay projects listed herein. 

This tax is in addition to the School Board’s proposed tax of 4.404 mills for operating expenses and is proposed solely at the discretion of the School Board.

**THE PROPOSED COMBINED SCHOOL BOARD TAX INCREASE FOR BOTH OPERATING EXPENSES AND CAPITAL OUTLAY IS SHOWN IN THE ADJACENT NOTICE

The capital outlay tax will generate approximately $19,765,040 to be used for the following projects:

CONSTRUCTION AND REMODELING

Gulf Breeze High – Replace/Relocate Tennis Courts

Infrastructure for Portable Installation/Relocation

Modifications for the Physically Disabled

New Pace Area K-8 School

Purchase Property for Educational and/or Ancillary Site(s)

MAINTENANCE, RENOVATION, AND REPAIR

Hobbs Middle – Energy Upgrades & HVAC Renovations

HVAC/Chillers/Boilers/DDC Controls Installation/Maintenance/Repair/Replace

Land Improvements (walkways, drainage, retention, irrigation, parking, fencing, etc.) @ Various Sites

Miscellaneous Maintenance, Renovation, and Repair at Various Sites

Painting/Refinishing – Interior & Exterior at Various Sites

Replace Flooring at Various Sites

Repairs/Renovations/Modifications/Demolition for Safety and/or Security

Replace/Repair/Upgrade of Roofing Systems

Repair/Replace/Install Fire Alarm & Fire Suppression Systems

Repair/Replace/Install Intercom Systems

Upgrade/Repair/Replace/Install Technological Infrastructure

NEW AND REPLACEMENT EQUIPMENT, COMPUTER AND DEVICE HARDWARE AND OPERATING SYSTEM SOFTWARE NECESSARY FOR GAINING ACCESS TO OR ENHANCING THE USE OF ELECTRONIC AND DIGITAL INSTRUCTIONAL CONTENT AND RESOURCES, AND ENTERPRISE RESOURCE SOFTWARE

Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment for Schools and Ancillary Facilities

Security Camera Systems & Access Controls for Schools and Ancillary Facilities

PAYMENTS FOR EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES AND SITES DUE UNDER A LEASE PURCHASE AGREEMENT

Bennett C. Russell Elementary School – Certificates of Participation Payment

East Bay K-8 School – Certificates of Participation Payment

Navarre High School – Certificates of Participation Payment

New Pace Area K-8 School – Certificates of Participation Payment

Thomas L. Sims Middle School – Certificates of Participation Payment

Woodlawn Beach Middle School – Certificates of Participation Payment

PAYMENTS FOR RENTING AND LEASING EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES AND SITES

Limited Lease of Portable Classrooms Including Installation, Set-up, Dismantle, Relocation and/or Removal

PAYMENT OF PREMIUMS FOR PROPERTY AND CASUALTY INSURANCE NECESSARY TO INSURE THE EDUCATION AND ANCILLARY PLANTS OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT

Property Insurance Premium

PAYMENTS TO PRIVATE ENTITIES TO OFFSET THE COST OF SCHOOL BUSES PURSUANT TO

S. 1011.71(2)(i), F.S.
