Paddlers journey around Florida coast

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) announced March 28 that two retired police officers from Charlotte completed a four-month journey kayaking from Big Lagoon State Park near Pensacola to Fort Clinch State Park just south of the Georgia border on the Atlantic coast.

Jim Windle and Marc DeLuna kayaked more than 1,500 miles around Florida’s coastline starting near Pensacola Nov. 2, 2013 and finishing March 1 near the Georgia border on the Atlantic coast.
