Navarre restaurant temporarily closed after complaint inspection

The popular beach restaurant Andy D’s has been temporarily shut down after an inspection stemming from a complaint made. The restaurant will remain closed until violations are corrected. In total, they were cited for three high priority violations, one intermediate and eight basic violations.

Some of the high priority violations include:

  • Live, small flying insects found. Approximately 20 flies were on the walls, on the prep tables, clean dishes and washing station.
  • Raw meat stored over read-to-eat food. Fish container over cole slaw in walk-in cooler.
  • Time/temperature control for safety, food cold held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit. Items held for more than four hours were fish at 55 degrees F., shrimp at 57 degrees F., beef at 60 degrees F, cheese at 60 degrees F.
  • Food contact surface soiled with food debris, mold-like substance or slime.
