The Fort Pickens, Naval Live Oaks and Okaloosa Areas of the Gulf Islands National Seashore all experienced impacts from heavy rain and flooding last week.
Personnel from the US Park Service used heavy equipment Saturday to remove sand from Fort Pickens road. The road had been closed during the peak of last week’s flood event and standing water was still visible Saturday.
