Upon arrival, firefighters observed smoke coming from the eaves of a one-story apartment. The fire was located in the attic space above a fireplace, which was in use at the time.

The fire was quickly extinguished by the fire crews. While the fire was out, crews had to conduct extensive overhaul to ensure the fire was completely out and to assess the extent of the damage. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident. Midway was assisted by Holley-Navarre Engine 41 and Pensacola Beach Station 13.
