The incident led to Holley Navarre Primary, Intermediate and Middle schools to activate secure facility status for about 20 minutes. According to Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office public information officer Christi Cole, the incident occurred while serving an outstanding warrant from the Milton Police Department.
The Sheriff’s Office said the warrant was for tampering with an electronic monitoring device.
“The electronic monitoring was a condition of release stemming from a prior arrest by the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office,” the agency said in a statement. “That arrest included two second-degree felony charges for possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and two first-degree misdemeanor charges for contempt of court.”
According to Santa Rosa County Jail View, Altieri is charged with public order crimes, simple assault and resisting an officer. He was booked into Santa Rosa County Jail with no bond.
Navarre Press has requested his arrest report but didn’t receive it in time for publication of this article.
