Tallahassee – An effort to prevent removal of historical monuments and memorials started to advance Monday in the Senate as cities such as Jacksonville fight over Confederate statues.
A statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee is removed from its pedestal on Monument Avenue on September 8, 2021, in Richmond, Virginia.
