King remembered at historic Milton church

In historic downtown Milton on a street renamed for Martin Luther King Jr. stands a monument honoring the legacy of the slain civil rights leader. The marker is set in front of historic Mt. Pilgrim African Baptist Church – the site of a Jan. 20 memorial service celebrating what would have been King’s 85th birthday.

A monument honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., is only steps outside Mt. Pilgrim African Baptist Church, a site featured on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
