Keeping your cool

Florida is known as the Sunshine State, but sometimes Floridians can get a little too much sun. Recently, Miami-Dade County declared a “heat season” similar to hurricane season to raise awareness of the dangers that heat can present to the health and well being of Floridians. Although northwest Florida is about as far from Miami-Dade as you can get without leaving the state, extreme heat still presents dangers along the Emerald Coast.
Senior Chillout is an annual donation drive put on by the Council on Aging of West Florida and its community partners.
