Saturday morning was cold and windy on Nov. 1. It was a fitting climate to cloak the dozens of animals in desperate need of rescue at the Furever Friends Adoption event organized by CARE (Citizens for Animal Rights Enforcement) of Santa Rosa County.
Laura Booth with SouthBark, which operates from Mississippi to Navarre, keeps Max warm during the Furever Friends Adoption event Nov. 1 in Navarre. SouthBark rescues more than 1,000 animals per year who are at the highest risk of euthanasia from shelters.
