Holley-Navarre Fire District commissioner resigns

| Gail Acosta
At the Oct. 5 Holley-Navarre Fire District Board Meeting, fire commissioner William Painter resigned his position effective immediately.  He read a statement to the board members:  “After much consideration and discussion with my family, I have decided to resign my position with the Holley-Navarre Fire District effective immediately.”  The commissioners, though seemingly surprised by the move, thanked Painter for his time on the board and his contributions to the fire district.  Without any further explanation, Painter excused himself from the meeting.
William Painter took the oath of office July 28, 2014 for Seat 4 of the Holley-Navarre Board of Fire Commissioners. Painter resigned his position Monday evening at their regular monthly meeting.
