Help prioritize transportation projects in the Florida-Alabama region

| Staff Reporters
Each year, the Florida-Alabama Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) identifies top transportation needs—including road improvements, safer intersections, reduced traffic congestion, and expanded mobility options—to help inform funding considerations.

This list of recommended projects is submitted to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) to help identify which projects will receive state and federal funding in the upcoming Five-Year Work Program.

Your input is essential. The TPO relies on public input to ensure transportation decisions reflect the needs of the community. Whether you drive, bike, walk, or take transit, your voice helps shape the future of Florida-Alabama’s transportation network.

The public comment period is open now through Friday, April 25, 2025.

Explore the project priorities and share feedback:

The virtual open house features an interactive project map, a list of proposed projects, and a link to the survey to gather input on how they should be prioritized based on community needs. Projects range from roadway improvements to safety enhancements, bike/pedestrian connections, and other regional priorities.

Public workshop-in-person or online:

  • Date: Wednesday, April 9, 2025
  • Time: 10:30 a.m.
  • Location: Pensacola Downtown Library, 239 N Spring St, Pensacola, FL 32502
  • Virtual attendance available: www.ecrc.org/VirtualPublicMeetings

This hybrid workshop offers an opportunity to ask questions, delve deeper into the projects, and engage directly with TPO staff.

The Florida-Alabama Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) collaborates with local jurisdictions and transportation partners to update and prioritize transportation projects that best meet the region’s needs. Public input ensures the process reflects the experiences and concerns of the people who use these transportation systems every day.

Whether your focus is on traffic flow, safety, or connectivity, your input helps shape how transportation projects are prioritized across the region.

The final list of 2025 Transportation Project Priorities will be approved by the TPO Board on Wednesday, May 14, 2025.
