Gulf Power and military bringing large-scale solar power to area
Gulf Power is partnering with the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force to build solar energy farms at three different facilities across Northwest Florida. Last week, the utility submitted the renewable projects to the Florida Public Service Commission (FPSC) for approval. The projects could be in service as early as December 2016.
Gulf Power, along with the U.S. Navy and Air Force, plans to construct solar energy farms at Holley Field in Navarre, Eglin AFB in Fort Walton Beach and Saufley Field in Pensacola.
