On Feb. 23, a great white shark washed ashore on Navarre Beach. The sight of a 15-foot shark, particularly a species as famous as the great white, garnered much attention on social media and throughout the Navarre community.
Joe Horton was eating breakfast at Andy D’s Friday morning, Feb. 23, and he heard that a great white shark had washed ashore on Navarre Beach. “You’ve seen pictures of sharks from National Geographic,
but when you’re standing there next to [a great white shark] and you see it loaded on a trailer… it was
just impressive. It made me sad to see that it was dead,” Horton told Navarre Press.
