FWC law enforcement, national groups talk ‘Operation Dry Water’

Rainy weather couldn’t stop the kickoff to Operation Dry Water at U.S. Coast Guard Station Destin on Wednesday, July 3. Operation Dry Water, started in 2009, is a national initiative to increase awareness and enforce Boating Under the Influence laws. Each Fourth of July weekend, a heightened enforcement campaign is held. The goal of Operation Dry Water is to reduce the number of alcohol and drug-related boating incidents and fatalities.
