County officials tell us that the Milton Community Center currently has 61 people housed at the shelter, with 8 people in the special-needs shelter.
The center has room for 345 people and is still open.
County staff say the shelter is pet-friendly. Residents must bring a carrier with proof of vaccinations and all food and supplies.
Shelters are usually uncomfortable, and meals will not be provided. Residents should take:
- Water, non-perishable snacks
- Change of clothes
- Toiletries
- Blankets, pillows and sleeping bags
- Games and toys for children
