Couple provides haven for unwanted senior dogs

Gail Roland, who runs a nonprofit senior dog rescue with her husband, was once attacked by two pit bulls while working as a mail carrier. But she rescued 10-year-old Louie from Clay County Animal Care and Control Thursday, March 5, in rural Clay County, Fla. “He had the saddest eyes,” she said. “I couldn’t leave him.” The Rolands founded a nonprofit senior dog sanctuary last year in Clay County.
