Santa Rosa County commissioners voted April 25 to close the county’s 21 recycling drop-off sites until further notice due to health and safety risks from the overwhelming volume of recycling material not collected or processed by the county’s contractor, West Florida Recycling.
The recycling drop-off site at the South Santa Rosa Service Center was overflowing with recyclables last Thursday, when Santa Rosa County announced that they would close. By Friday, the recycling containers and litter had been removed.
