Condemned Avenida De Sol houses find use as practice site for firefighters

Everyday firefighters are expected to be ready at a moment’s notice to respond to house fires, car crashes, medical calls, and a litany of other incidents. To take these calls on, these first responders must be prepared. That’s where training comes in.
HNFD Battalion Chief Jason Martino walks into a smoke-filled living room of a house on Avenida De Sol. The house, located at 2252 Avenida De Sol, was condemned earlier this year after Santa Rosa County purchased it from the homeowners following a series of flooding incidents.
