Santa Rosa County Commissioner Bob Cole recently explained to Holley by the Sea residents why the county rejected a $3 million stormwater mitigation grant that could have helped flood-prone neighborhoods. Cole told property owners at the home owners’ association June meeting that the required local match of about $1.2 million was only part of the reason the county didn’t accept the funds in 2007.
