At the Board of County Commissioners meeting May 22, Cat Country 98.7 presented a check of more than $20,000 to Santa Rosa Kid’s House.

Cat Country Morning Show personality and program director Brent Lane said they organized the Spring Jam at Juana’s Pagodas & Sailors’ Grill as a way to raise funds to benefit the community.

“I would be remiss not to recognize not only the incredible effort that Juana’s Pagodas puts in every year,” Lane said. “But also, Kia Autosport for coming in and making sure we had an event that would benefit the Santa Rosa Kid’s House.”

Chairman of Santa Rosa Kid’s House, Wendell Hall, was presented with the check and shared his thanks to Cat Country and their staff. Hall said it means the world to them for a radio station with influence in the community to support Santa Rosa Kid’s House.

“We just can’t say thank you enough,” Hall said. “Like all of us, we care and love kids and especially those who are abused.”

Santa Rosa Kid’s House was registered as a corporation in 2004 and was granted nonprofit status. Local business owner Howard Burris bought property and donated $1 million toward the construction of the building. Their mission is to deliver a well-coordinated and multidisciplined response to child abuse in an environment that puts the needs of the child first.
