‘Business of the Year’ serving freshest seafood on the Gulf

| Staff Reporters
Spring is in the air and so is Creole seasoning at Where Y’at Seafood. Crawfish season is in full swing, and no one does crawfish quite like Where Y’at. Enjoy these fresh, juicy delicacies of the south boiled and seasoned to perfection. Make your way up Highway 87 in Navarre to Where Y’at Seafood Market & Restaurant and taste for yourself.

Recently, this family restaurant was awarded Business of the Year from the Navarre Chamber of Commerce. Where Y’at is where you can find local seafood sourced straight from our neighborhood and where you can taste delicious food that will bring you back to Bourbon Street.

Where Y’at is a staple in the community and loves getting involved in festivals and Emerald Coast events. Be on the lookout on their social media for where you can spot them next.

Where Y’at specializes in catering, and it doesn’t have to be for a big fancy event either. They offer catering for any type of party from birthdays, retirements and holiday office parties to weddings and rehearsal dinners. They serve seafood boils with crab legs, shrimp and crawfish, jambalaya, etouffee, gumbo and much more. Where Y’at can bring anything from their menu to your next party in bulk.

Customize your catering orders by choosing your favorites a la carte. Call 833-332-8328 and press option 6 for catering to request a personalized quote for your needs.

The restaurant partners with local fishermen daily to provide their customers with the freshest seafood possible. Where Y’at collects day boat fish regularly, sourced from local fisherman who run charters or fish full time. Now that spring is here, they are bringing in Snapper, Trigger Fish, Amberjack and Grouper. This fish is not caught on multiple day trips and frozen on the boat overnight. It is caught daily and brought in to Where Y’at. That is what sets this restaurant apart.

“When you eat or shop at Where Y’at, you’re not just supporting this entity, you’re supporting local fishermen providing for their families as well,” said market manager Will Lumpkin.

It is definitely a family affair, says owner Paul Ruiz.

His son Courtney Lumpkin manages the kitchen for the restaurant and son Will Lumpkin manages the seafood market.

Plenty of fresh seafood items are available in the market, including Yellowedge/Scamp Grouper, Red Snapper and Trigger Fish.

Everything screams local with Where Y’at.

From sourcing fish, crab and shrimp directly from Emerald Coast fishermen to carrying local hot sauces, dip and products from Louisiana, Where Y’at Seafood loves working with its community members.

And the food is all made from scratch. That’s how you know it’s fresh and delicious. All their sauces, boudin, egg rolls, gumbo, etouffee, red beans and corn and crab soup are made from scratch in the kitchen. They bring in their Leidenheimer French Bread straight from NOLA for po’boys with Patton’s Hot Sausage.

Enjoy live music every Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. from talented musicians like Robert Wayne Walkup, a local Navarre guitarist and songwriter who plays a collection of country and his own originals or David “Jukebox” Butler who plays just about any song you can think of on the piano.

Stay tuned to the restaurant’s Facebook for their upcoming events and live music.

Where Y’at takes care of their loyal locals, sometime saving their place at the bar, or knowing their order before they even place it.

“Like Cheers, Where Y’at is where everyone knows your name. This is where I came to be with my family because the people here are like family to me,” regular Kevin Jones said.
