Regional leaders discuss Highway 98 solutions at Hurlburt traffic roundtable
Military leaders, elected representatives and transportation officials gathered for Air Force Special Operations Command’s traffic roundtable at the Freedom Tech Center in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Aug. 17.
The roundtable served as a platform for key representatives to discuss ongoing efforts to reduce congestion along U.S. Highway 98. Attendees reviewed progress made since the first roundtable in 2023 and explored future projects to improve traffic flow along the busy highway.

Test plans, hazard analyses, evaluation frameworks, and technical reports are all part of the process that ensures flight tests are conducted safely and produce meaningful results. Drafting those documents can take hours, days, and sometimes weeks.
Former AFSOC Command Chief allegedly produced, possessed child porn
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Feb. 10, 2026, for Chief Master Sgt. Anthony Green, previously assigned as the Air Force Special Operations Command Command Chief. He stands accused of possessing and producing child pornography.
Hurlburt Field to require REAL ID for base access
Any person requesting access to Hurlburt Field, to include active duty sponsored guests, will need to present a REAL ID beginning May 7, 2025.
To determine if a driver’s license is REAL ID compliant, look for a star in the upper right-hand corner of the ID.
