The Lady Raiders rolled over three opponents this week. However, they expect to be tested this week when they take on rivals Niceville, Mosley and Leon.
Jackie Coyne is only in her first season as the head girls basketball coach at Navarre. And she is setting the bar high for the Raiders despite the fact that they won only two games a year ago.
Bekka Boyd has made the most of her senior season on the Navarre swim team. The standout diver enjoyed one of her biggest moments of the season Oct. 28 when she won a district championship at Washington High School in Pensacola.
Navarre boys basketball coach Taf Bentley is excited about the season ahead. Part of that excitement stems from the fact that he has an experienced group of players, particularly the seven seniors on the roster.
It doesn’t matter if Navarre is playing a great team or an average one. The Raiders approach every game with the attitude that they will play at their best.
Navarre followed up their two pre-season victories last week with a thrashing of Milton in the regular season opener at the Santa Rosa Sports Complex in Chamuckla Monday night.
Navarre head football coach Jay Walls said he has seen more athletes diagnosed with concussions in the past two to three years than he has at any other time in his 18-year coaching career.
