Navarre senior defensive back Michael Sandle was named a first-team 6A All-State selection on Wednesday.  Sandle was one of four Raiders to earn all-state honors. The players were selected by newspaper editors and reporters in Florida.

Confidence is on the rise for Navarre’s boys basketball team, particularly over the last few weeks as the Raiders are finding ways to win games even when it appears victory is out of reach.

The Cincinnati Reds have announced that Pat Kelly will remain the manager of the Pensacola Blue Wahoos for the second year in a row.

The Navarre boys soccer team returned from the Christmas break a day before classes resumed and demolished county rival Pace 8-0 Monday night.

After completing its best regular season in school history with an 18-2-2 record, Navarre’s girls soccer team won its first district title, edging Niceville 5-4 in a game decided by penalty kicks. Tori Martino scored the game-winning penalty kick.

The Raiders won every first place and all but one second place with a match against Gulf Breeze held at home on Dec. 16. The final score was Navarre 78, Gulf Breeze 11.

Nearly two months into the season, Navarre’s girls basketball team has made its share of strides.

For at least the first half of Navarre’s District 1-7A opener against Niceville Dec. 15, the Raiders looked poised to nail down a big win.

The Holley-Navarre Elks Lodge held its Hoop Shoot free-throw contest Dec. 12 at the Navarre Youth Sports Association gymnasium.
