Last week,  the Lady Raiders flexed their muscles. They won their first two games at home against Tate, 7-0, and Pensacola, 8-0, and finished out the week with a 7-0 victory at Pine Forest.

Ailsa Clark, the Lady Raiders’ top golfer, isn’t slowing down just because the season is over. The high school junior won the Pensacola City Junior Championship Girls Open Division at Osceola Golf Course last weekend.

The Navarre Raiders football team entered Friday night’s Region 1 6A semifinal contest looking to avenge two straight losses to district rival Choctawhatchee High School. One of those defeats eliminated the Raiders from the 2013 playoffs. The other, a 25-15 loss, came on Oct. 17 this year.

The Lady Raiders had their second meet of the season Nov.19 at home and overwhelmed Fort Walton Beach by an 80-9 score. After two meets, the team holds every first and second place in each weight division and has racked up the maximum score in both meets.

The Lady Raiders’ soccer team played three games this week and each had a different ending. Fortunately, the one victory for the week was a 3-0 win over district rival Fort Walton Beach.

Despite the best efforts of the Lady Raiders, for the past several years Pace has owned the district championship and Navarre has placed second. This week, the Raiders faced the Patriots for their first real district test. Making the week even more difficult, Coach Rob Simon added an away game in Ocean Springs, Miss., on the weekend against last year’s state champion.

Coach Jay Walls and the rest of his staff could not have asked for a better start to the Region 1 6A quarter final game against the Escambia Gators. However, after the Raiders took an early 7-0 lead, the next 16:15 of the first half could not have gone much worse for the District 2 6A runners up.
