Lady Raiders’ soccer team continues unbeaten streak
The Lady Raiders started the week with a 3-0 road win over Mosley on Nov. 4. Two days later they defeated Crestview 10-0 at NYSA and finished the week with a scoreless tie against Leon at NYSA.

Senior recognition
George W. Bush was president. Wal-Mart and Whataburger didn’t exist in Navarre. Kelly Clarkson’s “Since You’ve Been Gone” was the number one song. “Happy Feet” was the top grossing film, and “The Office” was the number one show on television. This year’s seniors were 9 or 10 years old and in the fourth grade.

Raiders’ soccer team wins two pre-season games
Off to a good start, the Raiders defeated Fort Walton Beach and Mosley in a rare double header on Nov. 1. The pre-season games were played in Fort Walton Beach at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. under cold and blustery conditions. The Raiders won 4-2 over Fort Walton Beach in the morning game and defeated Mosley 2-0 in the afternoon contest.

Six straight wins to start of the season
Navarre reeled off six straight wins to start the 2014 season. Back to back setbacks at the hands of Niceville and Choctaw ruined the chances for an undefeated regular season. Throw in an off week and it had been nearly a month since the football team had experienced a victory on the field. The Dothan Tigers proved to be the perfect elixir for the bad taste in the Raiders’ mouths.

NHS Wahoos finish season in Panama City district meet
The Navarre High School Wahoos competed in the 2014 FHSAA Regional Swimming and Diving district meet Oct. 31 at Mosley High School in Panama City Beach. The men’s team ranked No. 21 while the women’s team finished ranked at No. 20. Dakota Middleton set a personal record in the Boys 50 Free event with a time of 23:35. Casey could be part of historic game
Former Navarre Raider Gatlin Casey, a freshman at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania, will be part of the team that plays the 150th football game between Lehigh and Lafayette College at Yankee Stadium in Bronx, N.Y., on Nov. 22.

After graduating 12 seniors last year, most teams would be going through a rebuilding year. However, if the preseason is any indication, the Raiders look to be contenders once again.

Choctaw hands Raiders their second loss
Navarre could have captured their third straight District 2-6A crown with a victory over Choctaw last Friday night, but instead, they will have to wait until Halloween to learn their fate in the district race.
