Greg Boozer sat in the hospitality room at Niceville High School Thursday night and talked about the end of the season for his Navarre girls basketball team.
Last Thursday night’s Region 1 4-A regional semifinal at Bennett Russell Stadium ended in shock and outrage for the Navarre High School boys soccer team.
While it may not seem like spring is on the horizon, the 2015 baseball season is fast approaching. The Raiders will take the field this year with a new leader. Navarre High School Principal Brian Noack has tapped Athletic Director Scott Murphy to take over the program which has gone through its share of tumult over the last several years.
Navarre 3, Lincoln 0
The district champion Lady Raiders won an exciting opening round game against Tallahassee’s Lincoln High School at home on Jan. 22.
Move over Pace. Step aside Niceville. At least for now, the Raiders are the kings and queens of District 1 4A soccer. One week after the Lady Raiders captured their first ever district crown in dramatic fashion over Niceville, the boys followed suit with an 8-0 victory over Fort Walton Beach in the title match of their tournament.
Navarre 5, Niceville 4
The game had all the drama the fans could handle. After two 40-minute periods, followed by two 10-minute extra time periods, the Raiders and Niceville remained in a scoreless tie.
