Callan Taylor is excited about the opportunity to play college softball, especially being able to play close to home. The Navarre senior signed her national letter of intent with the University of West Florida Friday afternoon.

The second annual Navarre Invitational was held on Dec. 9 and to no one’s surprise, the Raiders won overwhelmingly. The Raiders scored 122 points, Baker placed second with 57 and Gulf Breeze was third with 21 points.

The Lady Raiders traveled to Tate on Dec. 1 and came away with a 6 – 1 victory. The Raiders had only one game on their schedule for the week and the Raiders wanted to make the most of it.

With 14 teams competing on Dec. 4, the Choctaw Invitational is the area’s first big meet of the year. The Raiders won the first-place team trophy with a 91- point total. The second-place team, Pine Forest, had 31 points and Niceville placed third with 26 points.

The Lady Raiders played two away games at Choctaw and Milton this week without keeper Julianna DeSalle (family vacation) and Emily Madril (resting injuries). The Raiders won the first game against Choctaw easily, by a 6 – 0 score.
