Somewhere in heaven, Darnell Deas is looking down on his friend, Chris Williams, and his face is lit up with that infectious smile he was known for during in his time on this Earth.
Gavin LaValley has gone through the ups and downs of a baseball season like everyone else. He’s had stretches where the hits have been hard to come by, like in late July and early August when he managed only five hits in 13 games. Since then, he’s had only four games in which he hasn’t gotten at least one hit.
The Navarre Raiders volleyball team has only played two matches and is quickly winning fans. Every game is close, and the players are leaving plenty of skin on the floor.
Navarre’s volleyball team opened its season with an exhibition match against Pensacola last Tuesday at Milton. Although the Raiders came up short on the scoreboard, falling 25-10, 19-25 and 13-15, there was plenty to be happy about.
