The Navarre Raiders volleyball team has only played two matches and is quickly winning fans. Every game is close, and the players are leaving plenty of skin on the floor.
Navarre’s volleyball team opened its season with an exhibition match against Pensacola last Tuesday at Milton. Although the Raiders came up short on the scoreboard, falling 25-10, 19-25 and 13-15, there was plenty to be happy about.
Mary Moorer is usually doing the coaching, and yes, she’s still the main figure, as evidenced by the familiar voice heard from outside the pool during a Navarre swim team practice Wednesday morning.
Jordan Leggett is the first NFL player from Navarre. He is in his second season in the league and hoping to compete for the starting tight end job this season with the New York Jets. Navarre Press will provide updates on Leggett each week throughout the 2018 season.
