Navarre’s boys soccer team started off slow against Pace, but soon enough the Raiders started playing at a higher level and went on to crush the Patriots 7-0 in a District 1-4A battle on a chilly Thursday night at Bennett C. Russell Stadium.
The Lady Raiders placed first among the 11 teams participating in the Raider Invitational Dec. 7, winning seven of 10 weight divisions. They also earned three second-place finishes as the Raiders scored 93 points. Pine Forest was the closest competitor with 27 points.
Tyrese Harvey soared above the rim early in the fourth quarter, getting his hand on the ball that was bouncing around after a missed shot and throwing it down with ferocity.
Navarre High School’s girls soccer team had plenty to celebrate Tuesday as it clinched the top seed in the district tournament with a 4-1 win over Niceville. The Raiders are 7-0 in the district this season.
The Lady Raider dominated the Fort Walton Beach Invitational on Dec. 1 at Choctaw. The Raiders won a first place finish in each of the 10 weight divisions. The Raiders also finished second in seven weight divisions. The final score was Navarre 75, Fort Walton Beach 23 and Choctaw 15.
The Lady Raiders played two of their toughest rivals this week with their unbeaten streak on the line. The Raider offense scored three times against each opponent and the defense allowed only one goal in the two games.
