Navarre’s swim team opened its season with a pair of meets last week, taking on area powerhouse Washington in a dual meet at home Tuesday before competing in a meet with Gulf Breeze and Pace the next day at Hunter Pool.

Gavin LaValley has gone through the ups and downs of a baseball season like everyone else. He’s had stretches where the hits have been hard to come by, like in late July and early August when he managed only five hits in 13 games. Since then, he’s had only four games in which he hasn’t gotten at least one hit.
