Sweet 16! Raiders continue impressive streak of success
Getting bumped up from 2A to 3A this year didn’t present a roadblock to glory on the first step of the postseason journey for Navarre’s girls weightlifting team.
In what has become a familiar scene, the Raiders were crowned champions of the district once again, adding another title that further bolsters a run of dominance that has lasted nearly two decades.
Playoff picture more clear in latest regional rankings
As the regular season inches closer to the finish line, the postseason picture begins to become more clear for the basketball and soccer teams at Navarre.
The girls basketball team maintains its top five spot in Region 1-6A while the boys hoops team is in the top eight and staring at an opportunity to rise higher based on how its showdown with top-ranked Pace goes on Friday night.

Team unity strong as Navarre aims to continue dominance of district
Jada Thomas shouts words of encouragement over the loud music playing inside the weight room on a Thursday morning.
She’s encouraging one of her teammates to nail her lift in an intra-squad meet being used as preparation for the upcoming District 1-3A meet.
Navarre doesn’t miss a beat against Aggies
Maia Vacks wasn’t expecting the shot to go in. The goal keeper wasn’t either.
Vacks fired her shot from well outside the box, the ball floating upward before slipping under the crossbar and over the head of a keeper who never had a chance to react.
Both hoops teams have schedules impacted by COVID
COVID-19 is the one opponent teams can’t plan for.
And now it has impacted this week’s schedules for Navarre’s boys and girls basketball teams.

I hope the Florida High School Athletic Association makes good decisions when it comes to the reclassifying process.
Hot 3-point shooting effort propels Raiders to win
As Jayven Streeter backpedaled down the court after knocking down another 3-pointer against West Florida, the only thing missing from the Navarre guard was a shoulder shrug reminiscent of Michael Jordan in the 1992 NBA Finals.
Jordan made six 3-pointers in a half against Portland in Game 1, shrugging his shoulders as if he couldn’t believe it.
Senior night a success for Raiders
Caleb Long needed a moment to catch his breath after putting in hard work to help Navarre’s boys soccer team notch a 3-0 win over Mosley last Thursday night.
Long played with added motivation and inspiration considering it was senior night for the Raiders, who won their third consecutive game and continue to thrive in the first month of 2021.
Lucky No. 13! Raiders match win total from last season
Call it Lucky No. 13 for Navarre’s girls basketball team.
And while it took overtime to get the job done, the Raiders have matched their win total from last season, earning a hard-fought 56-53 win over Crestview at home Thursday night.
