Navarre will be the top seed in the District 2-6A tournament based on the latest FHSAA regional rankings released today.

The Raiders are currently the highest ranked team in the state among the District 2-6A teams and also remain one of the top eight teams in Region 1-6A.

Several former Navarre athletes have continued their athletic careers in college across all divisions of the NCAA.

Whether it’s Nick Brahms (Auburn) or Emily Madril (Florida State) competing in NCAA Division I or Austin Epstein (Embry-Riddle) running hard at the NCAA Division II level, former Raiders have found success at the next level.

September ended on a high note for Navarre’s football team, with the Raiders winning two consecutive games to close out the month.

With the arrival of October, however, the schedule doesn’t get any easier, starting with Friday night’s Homecoming game against unbeaten Mosley.

Navarre has jumped up one spot in this week’s FHSAA 7A regional rankings.

The Raiders are one of two teams in the area ranked in the top eight of Region 1-7A.

Playing its first game on campus in school history last Friday night, Lighthouse Private Christian Academy fell short in its bid to upset the reigning 1A state champions.

The Stingrays lost 9-0 to sixth-ranked Baker.
