Kelly Hayes has poured everything she has into coaching softball the last seven seasons, building the Navarre Raider program into one of the best in the area.

But her time in the dugout is done for now after announcing she has stepped down as the head coach. Hayes is due with her first child later this summer and is stepping away for that reason.

Trent Hall always believed he’d earn an opportunity to play football at the college level. Even as he sat out his senior season because of an injury, he kept the faith.

In April, Hall signed a national letter of intent with Webber International where the standout wide receiver will continue his collegiate career.

Former Navarre Raider Matt Cronin is moving up the ranks in minor league baseball.

Cronin has been promoted to Triple-A Rochester after a strong showing with Double-A Harrisburg.

Even after Kyle Chambers had his senior football season cut short in early November because of an injury, he never stopped believing he was going to get an opportunity to play college football.

“I never really felt like it was the end. I had certain schools interested in me from camps and other showcases, so I had confidence that I was going to continue on to a collegiate program,” Chambers said.

Sebastian Melendez isn’t done playing football yet.

The Navarre Raider senior is taking his talents to NCAA Division III Millsaps this fall.
