In the seventh inning of a tightly contested game against Washington last month, Navarre trailing by a run, the junior came through with a two-run hit with two outs in the seventh inning to help propel the Raiders to a 7-5 victory.

Offseason work making a difference for Tyler Lewis

Fifth-inning outburst carries Navarre to run-rule win over Niceville
Let’s talk about odds for a moment. Navarre’s softball team had a few stacked against them in Tuesday night’s battle with rival Niceville.
For starters, the Raiders came into the night on a four-game losing streak. And they trailed 5-0 after two innings against the Eagles, the same Eagles who have long been a thorn in their side, including at the end of last year when they bounced Navarre from the district tournament.

Area basketball standouts were given one last chance to shine in a high school setting, taking part in the Pensacola Sports Association All-Star Game Friday night.
Kenzie England and Angel Rhodes both represented Navarre on the East team, which rolled to a 52-30 win over the West at Pensacola State’s Hartsell Arena.

Navarre Raiders dominate their own invitational
Garrett Bagley held his two young daughters, one in each arm, as he talked about his Navarre boys weightlifting team early Wednesday evening.
Fifteen minutes earlier, he was holding a couple of trophies, his Raiders sweeping the titles at their own invitational, winning the Olympic 58-45 over Choctaw and cruising to a 55-38 win over the Indians in traditional.

Cooke back to her old self as a softball player
Cailyn Cooke wasn’t sure what the future of her athletic career held for her coming off a girls weightlifting season that was cut short because of a back issue.
But after a delay to start her senior softball season, the Gulf Coast State commit got back on the field late last month and seems to be getting back to her usual self and in her regular position behind the plate as a standout catcher for the Navarre Raiders.
