Chase Guillot traded his baseball bat for a set of golf clubs when he was 13 and hasn’t looked back.
“I played baseball most of my life and then played golf with my dad once and I had some natural talent. I decided to make the switch.”
New location set for state weightlifting meets
State weightlifting is headed to Lakeland in 2023.
Already the host site for the girls and boys state basketball tournaments, the RP Funding Center will also be the host arena for the girls and boys state weightlifting meets through at least the year 2025.

Carter rushed for 15 yards on nine carries and caught two passes for 14 yards in New York’s 24-20 road win over the Pittsburgh Steelers at Acrisure Stadium.

With the bye week in the rear-view mirror, Navarre begins the grind of October, starting Thursday night with a game against Mosley in Panama City.
It’s the start of a critical stretch for the Raiders, who find themselves ranked seventh in the first set of the Region 1-4S rankings. Mosley is sixth, and Pace, who Navarre will face in a district game on Oct. 21, is seventh.
UWF Argos rally for thrilling win over North Greenville
The University of West Florida stood on the edge of glory as Griffin Cerra lined up for a game-winning field goal attempt Saturday at night at Pen Air Field.
Once down 13 points, the Argos had now positioned themselves for a thrilling comeback win, a much needed win after losing a week earlier in double overtime to Delta State. Cerra didn’t disappoint.

The University of West Florida football team didn’t go down without a fight Saturday night at Pen Air Field.
Down two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, the Argos rallied to force overtime, and then a second OT before falling 45-42 in a wild Gulf South Conference battle.
