Five Santa Rosa sites in Gulf Power program
Owners of five Santa Rosa properties signed up to participate in Gulf Power’s site certification program by the May 3 deadline imposed by the utility. The goal of the new program, which officially kicked off in April, is to help recruit large industry to the area by certifying there are project-ready sites available.
Second phase of SR 87 widening nears completion
“It’s ridiculous,” said Holley resident Linda Chepult, regarding the four-laning of SR 87, the main north-south corridor for residents in the south end of the county. Chepult has lived near the traffic artery since 2010, the same year the second phase of the road-widening project began. The $15 million phase, which included bridge construction over Dean Creek, is expected to be complete by mid-summer.

Fatal wreck at Hurlburt impacts traffic, local lives
Two people were killed in a traffic accident that shut down the westbound lanes of U.S. Hwy 98 near the Hurlburt Field main entrance for nearly five hours on Thursday. Seven vehicles were damaged in the crash, in which three Navarre residents and one Gulf Breeze residents were involved.
Santa Rosa teacher arrested when meeting student for sex
Santa Rosa County teacher Robert Todd Crutchfield, 42, apparently traveled to meet a 14-year-old former student for sex June 14 at Florida Town Park in Pace. Instead, he was arrested by law enforcement officers.

Pace man arrested for murder in New Hampshire
