Navarre area churches hosting fall events
With fall comes events and activities, churches are no exception.
At Navarre United Methodist Church (9474 Navarre Parkway), there are two upcoming fall events, both will be held at Navarre United States Methodist Church. The first one will be the fall concert, which is set for Friday, Oct. 20, with doors opening at 6 p.m. and the show starting at 6:30 p.m.

Rudman files Carli bill again for 2024 legislative session
Florida Rep. Dr. Joel Rudman (R-Navarre) has filed a custody exchange safety bill for the forthcoming 2024 legislative session. The bill, known as the Cassie Carli bill, would require Sheriff’s Offices in each county to come up with at least one designated safe custody exchange place within their jurisdiction. According to Rudman’s office, the safe-exchange location will be signified by a purple light in the parking lot of a Sheriff station or substation. The location must have 24/7 video monitoring as well as adequate lighting.

Legends and Lore Tour returns to Bagdad Cemetery
Meet prominent residents from Bagdad’s past and learn their stories during the Bagdad Cemetery Association’s free Legends and Lore Tour. The event was suspended because of COVID, but volunteers have revived the educational two-hour presentation, which takes place between 10 a.m. and noon Saturday at the cemetery, 6800 Pooley Street in Bagdad.

Navarre mother arrested for September bus incident
A Navarre woman was arrested after she allegedly refused to leave a Santa Rosa County District Schools bus Sept. 21.
Dana Stuart was charged with trespassing and disturbing the peace. She was booked into Santa Rosa County Jail Sept. 29 and released later that day.

Navarre man arrested for narcotics, driving with suspended license
A Navarre man was arrested after a Sept. 6 incident, in which he was allegedly in possession of drugs while driving with a suspended license.
Marcus Timothy Darring, 39, was arrested and charged with felony drug possession and a misdemeanor moving traffic violation.

Sheriff’s office: Gulf Breeze man had over a dozen files of child porn
A Gulf Breeze resident has been arrested for possessing three videos and 10 images of child pornography.
Jason Ball, 48, is charged with possession of obscene material, which is a felony. According to his arrest report, the offense occurred at the 5300 block of Boots Byers Court in Gulf Breeze, which is Ball’s residence.
